The computer manufacturer Dell has seen its profits decline by 5% in the last quarter ended 31 October.
The company Round Rock, Texas has recorded profits of U.S. $ 727 million in the third quarter, U.S. $ 39 million less that twelve months.
Despite the economic recession, sales of personal computers have still increased by 10% compared to last year.
However, sales to consumers account for only a fifth of sales from Dell, which, in total, fell 3%.
The CEO of Dell has made no secret that the difficult economic situation affecting the majority of its business.
Dell is far too dependent on the U.S. market and not enough in emerging markets compared to its rivals, say analysts.
Although Dell has cut 9% of its staff in the last year and has dropped some factories to outsource a quarter of its production, when the United States tremble, Dell is the first computer manufacturer to feel jarring.
By comparison, Hewlett-Packard, the world of computers, expects to exceed analysts' forecasts for the next year.
